Are you ready to gain hands-on experience in agricultural lending, appraisal and marketing while exploring the diverse ag landscape of California? Golden State Farm Credit is now accepting applications for our 2026 Summer Internship Program — a paid, eight-week immersive opportunity designed to introduce you to a career in ag business and finance.


Application Deadline: Thursday, January 29th at 3:00 PM

Location: Chico & Kingsburg, CA (interns will rotate between offices during the first two weeks)

Duration: 8 weeks | Mid-June to Early August

Compensation: $20 an hour - Competitive hourly wage + travel reimbursement

Rooted in Real World Experience

  • Apply financial principles by working directly with loan applications, tax and credit analysis, and GSFC’s credit philosophies.
  • Gain field experience through ag real estate and chattel appraisal techniques during on-site inspections.
  • Engage in strategic communication by collaborating with our marketing team to understand customer outreach and engagement.
  • Develop business acumen by exploring tools and strategies for prospecting new clients in the ag finance space.
  • Understand the full lending cycle with hands-on exposure to loan documentation from origination to closing.
  • Immerse yourself in California agriculture by exploring the diverse crops, communities, and landscapes of Northern California and the San Joaquin Valley.

 

Is This Internship Right for You?

  • Juniors or seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Ag Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant coursework completed by June 2026.
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel between GSFC offices during the internship.
  • Available for the full 8-week program.

 

Physical Demands:

Positions in this class requires:  typing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.  May be required to lift up to 10 pounds, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects while completing essential functions. This position is comprised of sedentary work which involves sitting at a computer a majority of the workday; walking and standing are required only occasionally. 

Working Conditions:

Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
