Risk Management Analyst I: $57,283 - $85,681
Risk Management Analyst II: $78,521 - 120,026

Position Summary
The Risk Management Analyst position assists in the implementation of programs, policies, procedures, and processes to ensure sound risk management practices are in place and risk levels are being monitored via the appropriate reporting processes. The Risk Management Analyst II level is differentiated by years of experience, knowledge and skills, increased responsibilities and independence exercised in the normal course of work.
Essential Functions
Portfolio Stress Testing (10%)
- Reviews and assists with the assumptions and parameters of stress tests
- Determines what data simulation method provides the best results
- Reports the results of the annual stress test by identifying the most relevant information and determining the report format and presentation method
Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) (10%)
- Validates data inputs and model parameters
- Validates and continuously monitors model performance. Researches and resolves discrepancies as needed.
- Recommends price forecast scenarios to multi-Association CECL Subcommittee
- Inputs model parameters and calculates CECL estimate, providing a recommendation to management for approval
- Writes CECL narrative, including in depth analysis of current economic conditions, portfolio trends, and commodity factors impacting the loan portfolio
- Calculates the Specific Reserve
- Ensures compliance with ICFR Controls. Recommending additions/edits to control language as this is a new process
Enterprise Risk Management Analysis (15%)
- Identifies, measures, monitors, validates, and enumerates existing, trending, or emerging risks in Information Technology, finance, credit, and other Association risk areas
Loan Reviews and Collateral Custodian Processes (35%)
- Review loans and servicing actions for completeness and accuracy before entering approval
- Monitors collateral custodian activities to ensure compliance with the General Financing Agreement and the Collateral Custodianship Agreement
- Identifies and implements enhancements to collateral custodian processes
Problem Solving and Training (10%)
- Works with leadership on analysis and problem solving strategies
- Creates new procedures and policies depending on the need and problem (Senior Level)
- Determines the appropriate training activities or solutions to support job needs
Reporting Software and Strategy (10%)
- Creates reports using current reporting and data analytic software and internally developed spreadsheets and models
Presentation of Analysis Results (10%)
- Schedules and leads Monthly Risk Committee Meetings
- Details discussions in meeting minutes
- Presents findings to all levels within the Association in an effective, clear manner
Data Security and Confidentiality
- Appropriately protects the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association’s systems and data and clients’ data
Commitment and Support of Association Mission
- Understands, applies, and supports the Association mission and vision statement in a positive, professional manner at work and with customers in all settings
Risk Management Analyst II duties will also include:
Portfolio Stress Testing
- Creates routine credit quality management and Board reports on a yearly, quarterly, and/or monthly basis
Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL)
- Determines the quarterly allowance for loan and lease loss reports based on an analysis of the loan and lease portfolios
Enterprise Risk Management Analysis
- Identifies and monitors current compliance levels within Association risk parameters and matrixes
Reporting Software and Strategy
- Determines if the current reporting tools are useful, effective, and capture the correct information accurately or if other tools would be better
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Strong data manipulation capabilities including complex calculations.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software, data processing and enterprise software applications.
- Skill in analyzing information and problem solving to formulate logical and objective conclusions.
- Strong attention to detail with skill in posting, editing, tracking, organizing and reviewing data/documents with precision and accuracy.
- Ability to translate data into concise visual interpretation of business information and insights.
- Knowledge of statistical analytics, forecasting, and modeling.
- Skill in identifying and organizing resources in a systematic way to prioritize fluctuating workloads, optimize efficiency and ensure achievement of Association goals.
- Knowledge of credit administration and portfolio management procedures.
- Skill in selecting and using the appropriate training/instructional methods and procedures when learning and/or teaching information to staff.
- General knowledge of agriculture commodities and agricultural lending.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (with expertise in excel), computers, current software, and other office tools.
- Must be able to converse and communicate with customers using the English language.
- Skill in serving and working effectively with both external and internal customers in a professional, respectful manner.
Qualifications
- RMA I:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance or related field is preferred.
- 2 years of experience with data warehouses and data reporting, 1 years of experience with risk management practices and protocols
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
- RMA II:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance or related field is preferred.
- 3 years of experience with data warehouses and data reporting, 2 years of experience with risk management practices and protocols
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
Physical Demands
Positions in this class typically require: keying, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects. Must be able to remain in a stationary position most of the time. The employee must be able to prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribe data; understand information communicated via computer screens and in written text.
Working Conditions
Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures. This position requires approximately 5% travel time.
